Welcome to this awesome review of Network 211 Fundamentals of Cloud Computing. I hope you are ready to get some hands on experience working with Microsoft's Azure Cloud platform. This platform is relatively easier then working with AWS. The course has a ultimate goal of teaching the students how to get signed up, creating virtual machines, servers, and utilizing storage. We touch upon network security groups and how to set up rules and alerts to maintain security.
The biggest security issue to date is improper configuration when setting up any service in the cloud. This is the idea of getting the experience with our great professors who teach the course very weal. Professor Leaung does great walk through's each week during live class sessions and the material in our weekly modules aligns with the weekly projects. My professor for the course was Joe Njoloma was great he partook a bit in the discussions although I did wish he was a bit more active with the students on our weekly discussions but I can understand having a busy career and being an adjunct professor.
Azure offers students a year of free service up to one hundred dollars every month. AWS is similar in this way and because of NETW211 I was able to figure out what I was doing wrong when gaining experience with AWS.
Make sure to know your subnets to set up VNets and what each term refers to, for example terms like NSG, NAC, versioning, and snapshots. Know how memory works and how storage works. You should understand concepts like RAID 0, 5, 10, mirroring and disk striping. Understanding memory will help understanding of exactly how and what type of VM to set up.
Overall, great course I am thrilled to have this understanding and am looking forward to the higher level course that comes after, security related, Cloud Security.
